First Pet Blessing Ceremony On the morning of 4 th October, Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the Blessing of Pet Ceremony took place at the Grotto where over 30 pet lovers brought their dear companion dogs and cats to attend. After the opening prayer to the Patron Saint of Animals asking for protecti on and blessings, Fr . Everson blessed each pet individually followed by sprinkling of Holy water. The dogs and cats were obedient and cooperative with only one to two greetings (barking) among themselves since their arrival. Pet lovers were apprecia tive of this special o ccasion and considered i t meaningful as their pets are dear to them and valued as their beloved family members. This is the first time we hold a Pet Blessing Ceremony at St Margaret’s Church and we are glad that it was well receive d. English Community
