English Community Celebrating SMC’s Centenary
This year, the bi-annual English Community Social Gathering took place on 22nd June at the Parish Hall with over a hundred parishioners attending.
To celebrate the Parish’s 100th Anniversary, articles with pictures illustrating the history of the church were displayed for reading, while a video of the Parish’s chronicle was played continuously in the background. After Fr. Everson led the opening prayer, the gathering officially started with the SMC English Mass Choir and the Sacred Heart of Jesus Choir jointly singing joyfully throughout the event. A beautiful and delicious 100th Anniversary cake was hand-made by a generous parishioner for everyone to share.
Children were taught to make cartoon-style lambs out of twisted balloons, while others enjoyed drawing and painting contentedly. Snacks and drinks were also served.
The gathering ended after two hours of fun-filled socialising.
