First Pet Blessing Ceremony

On the morning of 4th October, Feast Day of St Francis of Assisi, the Blessing of Pet Ceremony took place at the Grotto where over 30 pet lovers brought their dear companion dogs and cats to attend.

After the opening prayer to the Patron Saint of Animals asking for protection and blessings, Fr. Everson blessed each pet individually followed by sprinkling of Holy water.

The dogs and cats were obedient and cooperative with only one to two greetings (barking) among themselves since their arrival.

Pet lovers were appreciative of this special occasion and considered it meaningful as their pets are dear to them and valued as their beloved family members.

This is the first time we hold a Pet Blessing Ceremony at St Margaret’s Church and we are glad that it was well received.
